St. Margaret's Cricket Club have been playing at Sidegate Avenue since 1988.  They have three senior teams and a large colts section.

The award was obtained on 29th September 2008 and a presentation was made at Ransomes Sports Club on Friday 28th November 2008, and we join a small group of clubs in Suffolk who has received the award.

Cricket at Ransomes Sports and Social ClubSt Margaret's CC have again been selected as one of the clubs in Suffolk to participate in the "Chance to Shine" initiative, designed to get Cricket back into schools.

Before St. Margaret's, Ransomes Cricket Club (previously known as Orwell Works Cricket Club) played at Sidegate Avenue.  There is a Facebook site with information on the old Orwell Works Cricket Club.
